Jewelry Store Cashier

Job Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented, trustworthy, and customer-focused Cashier to join our fine jewelry team. As a Jewelry Store Cashier, you will handle high-value monetary transactions, process customer payments, issue receipts, and manage daily register balancing with absolute accuracy. You will serve as the final point of contact in our customer's buying journey, ensuring a safe, pleasant, and seamless checkout experience.Key ResponsibilitiesTransaction Processing: Accurately process cash, credit/debit card, wire transfer, financing, and gift card payments for high-value purchases.Cash Management: Maintain a secure drawer, perform daily opening and closing counts, balance register logs, and reconcile end-of-day sales receipts.Customer Care: Greet customers warmly at checkout, answer basic inquiries regarding billing/payment options, wrap fine jewelry items securely, and present purchases impeccably.Billing & Documentation: Issue accurate sales receipts, warranties, repair slips, certificates of authenticity, and trade-in documentation.Security & Vigilance: Adhere strictly to store security protocols regarding cash handling, fraud detection (card verification, counterfeit check/cash detection), and loss prevention.Record Keeping: Enter accurate customer data into the Point of Sale (POS) system for loyalty programs, warranties, and custom orders.Inventory & Supplies: Monitor checkout supplies (gift boxes, ribbons, care kits, security bags) and assist sales staff with basic administrative duties during downtime.Requirements & QualificationsExperience: 1–3 years of cashier experience, preferably in high-value retail, luxury goods, boutique sales, or jewelry.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in Point of Sale (POS) software, credit card terminals, and basic computer systems (Excel, word processing).Mathematical Aptitude: Strong numerical skills with an emphasis on accuracy, change calculation, and inventory reconciliation.Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills, a professional demeanor, and a customer-first mindset.Integrity & Security: High ethical standards; background check and financial screening may be required given the high-value nature of inventory.Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
