We look after the IT for Irish SMEs across financial services, legal, and healthcare — sectors where reliability, security, and discretion matter. We're a small, close-knit team where every engineer has real ownership and direct client contact.The RoleWe're looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join our team and act as a first and second line point of contact for our clients. You'll resolve day-to-day technical issues, support end users across a range of environments, and help keep our clients' systems secure and running smoothly. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys variety, solving problems, and working directly with clients rather than being one desk in a large helpdesk.Key ResponsibilitiesRespond to and resolve client support tickets across desktop, network, and cloud environments (first and second line)Provide remote and on-site support to SME clients around DublinAdminister Microsoft 365, Windows desktops/servers, and common business applicationsSet up, configure, and deploy end-user hardware and softwareSupport network infrastructure: routers, switches, firewalls (e.g. SonicWall), and Wi-FiManage user accounts, access provisioning, and offboarding in line with security policyMonitor backups and respond to alerts; escalate and remediate issuesMaintain accurate documentation of client systems and ticket activityFollow security and data-protection procedures at all times (iPing operates to ISO 27001 standards)Escalate complex issues to senior engineers and contribute to their resolutionEssential Skills & Experience3+ years in an IT support or helpdesk role, ideally within an MSP or multi-client environmentSolid working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administrationStrong Windows desktop and server troubleshooting skillsUnderstanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs)Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systemsExcellent communication skills and a genuinely client-focused attitudeFull clean driving licence and willingness to travel to client sitesEligible to work in IrelandDesirableRelevant certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, or similar)Experience with firewalls (SonicWall an advantage)Exposure to backup/DR solutions and endpoint security toolsFamiliarity with regulated-sector clients (finance, legal, healthcare)Awareness of ISO 27001 or other security frameworksWhat We OfferCompetitive salary based on experienceGenuine variety of work and technologiesSupport for certifications and professional developmentA small, supportive team where your contribution is visibleLong-established, stable company with a loyal client base
