Apply & track with Apply EdgeBlack & Grey HR is partnering with one of the UAE’s established construction and infrastructure companies to hire a Joinery Cost Estimator to manage all cost estimation activities during the pre-contract phase of client's projects. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare accurate, competitive, and profitable bids that help us win new business. You will analyze project documents, visit sites, and work closely with internal teams and suppliers to build reliable estimatesKey Responsibilities The role requires full ownership of all estimating work for joinery and fit-out projects during the tendering and bidding stage. The estimator must carefully review drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, and tender documents to fully understand the scope of work. Site visits must be conducted during the bidding phase to gather on-ground information that may affect cost and feasibility. The estimator is responsible for determining labor, material, equipment, and time requirements based on plans and technical documents. Detailed and accurate bills of quantities with clear specifications must be prepared for each project. Complete, itemized cost breakdowns covering materials, labor, subcontractor costs, and overheads must be developed. Technical specifications must be interpreted accurately to prepare competitive pricing for tender submissions. Close coordination with the production and workshop team is required to ensure that estimates are realistic and aligned with manufacturing capabilities. The estimator must engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and confirm the availability of materials and services. Both technical and commercial terms within project documents must be analyzed, and feedback or clarifications must be provided as needed. Any inconsistencies or missing information in tender documents must be identified and addressed before the bid is finalized. Complete bid packages, including all required documentation and cost data, must be assembled for submission. Historical cost data must regularly be updated and backed up to support future estimating accuracy. Once a project is awarded, the contract terms must be reviewed to ensure a smooth transition to the project execution team. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience in cost estimation, specifically within the joinery, fit-out, or interior contracting industry. Proven experience in pre-contract estimation – including tendering, bidding, BOQ preparation, and pricing before project award. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and production workflows. Prior experience at a senior or supervisory level within a corporate or large-scale organization.
