Joinery Factory General Manager

Skilled Careers is partnering with a leading construction company which operates a specialist joinery factory in Riyadh KSA. The factory primarily fulfils the company's internal contracting requirements but is now poised to expand its operations and pursue external projects. We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead all aspects of the factory’s operations, ensuring production efficiency, financial performance, and customer satisfaction. This leadership role demands a strategic thinker with strong operational expertise and a focus on innovation and quality. The General Manager will be responsible for driving business growth, implementing operational excellence, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.Key responsibilities:Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the factory’s strategic direction, establishing clear short- and long-term objectives aligned with the company’s wider vision and growth plans.Operational Management: Take overall responsibility for the factory’s day-to-day operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, delivery schedules and financial objectives are consistently achieved through effective resource planning and operational efficiency.Operational Excellence: Establish, implement and continuously improve processes, systems and procedures to enhance productivity, reduce waste, improve efficiency and support the factory’s transition into a commercially driven operation.Quality & Compliance: Lead quality assurance and control across all production activities, ensuring products consistently meet required specifications and industry standards. Maintain a strong culture of health, safety and regulatory compliance throughout the facility.Financial & Commercial Performance: Take ownership of the factory’s financial performance, including budgeting, capital expenditure, cost management and profitability. Identify opportunities to improve margins, optimise resources and support sustainable commercial growth.Business Development: Drive the expansion of the factory into external markets, identifying new opportunities, developing client relationships and positioning the business to successfully compete for third-party projects.People & Team Development: Build and lead a high-performing management and operational team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. Ensure employees are appropriately trained, developed and motivated to deliver the factory’s strategic objectives.Collaborate with Marketing Teams: Work with internal and external marketing teams to enhance the factory’s brand presence and promote its bespoke joinery services.Drive Innovation: Implement advanced manufacturing technologies like CNC machining, 3D modeling, and sustainable materials to improve production efficiency and quality. Foster a culture of innovation to stay ahead of industry trends.Strategic Partnerships: Establish and maintain partnerships with suppliers, designers, and industry leaders to expand the factory’s capabilities and market reach.To be considered, candidates must have:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration or a related discipline.10+ years’ senior management experience within manufacturing, production or factory operations, ideally within bespoke joinery, fit-out or a related construction manufacturing environment.Proven GCC experience, with a strong understanding of the regional construction and contracting marketExcellent communication skills in English & Arabic.Demonstrated experience leading large-scale production and operational teams, with a track record of improving productivity, efficiency and overall performance.Strong commercial and financial acumen, including responsibility for budgets, P&L, capital expenditure, cost control and financial planning.Proven ability to develop and execute business strategies, with experience expanding operations and identifying new commercial opportunities.Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.A strong understanding of modern manufacturing technologies, processes and systems, with a genuine focus on innovation, quality and continuous improvement.Commercially minded, hands-on and results-driven, with the leadership capability to transition an established factory into a high-performing, externally focused business.This is an excellent longterm opportunity to join an expanding business with an exciting pipeline of work coming up in the Kingdom.
