Located in Pune, ARI also fosters professional growth through seminars, training programs, and scientific networking opportunities.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site position based at Agharkar Research Institute in Pune, focusing on host-pathogen interactions for biotrophic and hemibiotrophic pathogens in wheat. The JRF/PA-I will assist in planning and conducting laboratory and greenhouse experiments, including pathogen inoculation, plant growth, sample collection, and basic molecular or microbiological assays as relevant to the project. The role involves maintaining accurate experimental records, organizing data, and supporting documentation for reports, presentations, and publications. The selected candidate will coordinate daily schedules, ensure timely completion of tasks, and support the principal investigator and project team in organizing meetings, managing project-related communications, and handling essential clerical and administrative activities linked to the research work.QualificationsMust have M.Sc (Genetics Plant Breding/ Plant pathology/Ag Biotechnology/Biotechnology/Botany) NET/Gate from ICAR/CSIR/UGC with valid score. Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, to interact with team members, prepare basic documentation, and assist in internal and external correspondence.Candidates should possess solid Diary Management skills to help schedule experiments, meetings, and project deadlines, ensuring efficient use of laboratory and team time.Candidates should possess reliable Clerical Skills, such as maintaining records, organizing files, handling basic office procedures, and supporting documentation related to project administration.A background in biological sciences (e.g., M.Sc. or equivalent in relevant discipline) and interest in plant–pathogen interactions, plant pathology, or microbiology is highly beneficial.Ability to work in a team-oriented research environment, follow laboratory safety practices, and learn new experimental techniques as required for the project.Basic familiarity with data entry, computer applications (e.g., MS Office), and preparation of simple reports will be an advantage.
