The firm is known for solving complex development challenges, meeting demanding timelines, and delivering outcomes that reflect the highest standards of quality and design.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site Assistant Accountant role based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.The Assistant Accountant will support the company’s day-to-day accounting and financial administration activities, including processing invoices, recording financial transactions and journal entries, performing bank reconciliations, and assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable.The role will involve maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial schedules and basic management reports, and supporting month-end and year-end closing procedures. The Assistant Accountant will also help monitor project-related expenses, maintain project cost and payment trackers, and support the financial administration of ongoing real estate developments.Working closely with management, project teams, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and external stakeholders, the Assistant Accountant will help ensure that financial information and supporting documentation are accurate, complete, properly approved, and maintained in accordance with company procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial AdministrationRecord day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.Prepare and record journal entries, expenses, payments, receipts, and adjustments as required.Assist with maintaining general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.Perform bank and account reconciliations and assist in resolving discrepancies.Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.Maintain organized and complete supporting documentation for financial transactions.Accounts Payable & ReceivableReview and process supplier, consultant, contractor, and subcontractor invoices.Verify invoices against purchase orders, contracts, approvals, and supporting documentation.Prepare payment requests, payment vouchers, and supporting documents for approval.Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records.Update payment trackers and monitor outstanding invoices and balances.Reconcile supplier statements and assist with resolving payment or account queries.Project Accounting SupportMaintain project cost records and supporting financial documentation.Update project cost, budget, commitment, and payment trackers.Assist with allocating expenses to the appropriate projects and cost categories.Track consultant, contractor, subcontractor, and supplier invoices and payments.Maintain financial records relating to purchase orders, variations, payment certificates, and other project-related transactions.Coordinate with project teams to obtain required financial documentation and resolve outstanding items.Assist management in monitoring actual project expenditure against approved budgets.Financial ReportingAssist with the preparation of weekly and monthly financial summaries and management reports.Prepare account reconciliations, schedules, and supporting financial information.Update accounts payable and receivable ageing schedules.Maintain financial trackers and reports as required by management.Assist with compiling financial information for management and project reviews.VAT, Audit & Compliance SupportMaintain invoices, receipts, and supporting records required for UAE VAT purposes.Assist with preparing information and schedules required for VAT returns.Support external audits by organizing financial records, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.Assist with financial documentation requested by banks, auditors, consultants, or government authorities.Ensure financial records and supporting documentation are maintained in accordance with company procedures and applicable requirements.Financial Document Control & CoordinationMaintain organized electronic and hard-copy financial filing systems.File and maintain invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, purchase orders, quotations, contracts, and bank documentation.Ensure financial transactions have the appropriate supporting documentation and approvals before processing.Track missing or outstanding financial documentation and follow up with the relevant parties.Coordinate professionally with project teams, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders regarding invoices and financial documentation.Maintain strict confidentiality of company, project, employee, supplier, and financial information.QualificationsDiploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.1–3 years of relevant accounting or finance experience is preferred.Strong foundation in accounting principles, including bookkeeping, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation.Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheets, formulas, reconciliations, and basic financial reporting.Familiarity with UAE VAT requirements is an advantage.Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial data, documentation, and record-keeping.Good organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate professionally with colleagues and external stakeholders.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.Professional communication skills in English;
