Junior Accountant

About the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join the finance team of a leading chain distribution company. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, hands-on experience with the Odoo ERP system, and full ownership of the company’s tax compliance and banking operations.Key Responsibilities • Prepare and file monthly tax returns (VAT, withholding tax) accurately and on time • Prepare and submit quarterly tax returns (income tax installments) • Prepare and finalize annual tax returns, coordinating with external auditors and the Tax Authority • Handle bank transfers and perform regular bank reconciliations • Prepare, issue, and follow up on checks, ensuring proper clearance and settlement • Record day-to-day accounting entries and transactions on the Odoo system • Manage Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable and follow up on supplier and customer balances • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports • Support inventory reconciliation and periodic stock counts (given the distribution nature of the business) • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements • Maintain organized and audit-ready financial documentationRequirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • 1–3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within a distribution/trading company • Hands-on experience with Odoo ERP is a strong plus / required • Solid understanding of Egyptian tax law and filing procedures (VAT, WHT, income tax) • Proficiency in bank transfer processes and check handling • Strong Excel skills • High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines • Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure
