Team members join a growing organization dedicated to operational excellence and customer trust.Role Description The Junior Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Lusaka. This role supports the finance team with day-to-day accounting tasks, including posting transactions, maintaining ledgers, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, and preparing basic financial reports. The Junior Accountant helps reconcile bank statements and inventory-related accounts, monitors expense records, and ensures accurate documentation for audits and compliance. The role also involves supporting month-end and year-end closing activities, assisting with tax and statutory filings, and collaborating with operations staff to align financial records with retail and processing activities. The position requires attention to detail, integrity, and a commitment to maintaining accurate and timely financial information for the business.QualificationsStrong foundational accounting skills, including double-entry bookkeeping, ledger maintenance, and basic financial reporting.Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar), Microsoft Excel, and general office productivity tools.Understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash handling procedures.Knowledge of basic tax regulations, statutory compliance, and audit preparation requirements in a business environment.Excellent numerical aptitude, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Solid organizational and time-management abilities, with capacity to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with finance, operations, and management teams.High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail in handling financial data.Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification in progress (e.g., ZICA) is required.2 year + in accounting or finance, preferably in retail, manufacturing, or FMCG, is an added benefit.
