Junior Accountant

About Our Client: Our client is a manufacturer and distributor of tools and accessories.Position Scope: Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will support various accounting functions, including bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and financial analysis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise in corporate finance and accounting software within a dynamic organization. The Junior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.The position is hybrid - 2 days work from home per week after the probationary period.

Responsibilities

Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collectionsPerform bank reconciliations and account analysis to verify accuracy of financial dataSupport bookkeeping activities using accounting softwarePrepare financial reports and assist with auditing procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standardsConduct budgeting activities and monitor financial transactions for discrepanciesCollaborate with the senior accountant on month-end closing procedures and financial statement preparationMaintain organized records of all financial transactions for audit readinessQualifications and Skills: Proven experience or familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platformsStrong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and account reconciliation processesKnowledge of corporate finance principles, bookkeeping, auditing, payroll, and account analysisExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accuratelyBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not requiredPrior internship or entry-level experience in accounting or finance is a plusAI Disclosure: AI will not be used in the recruitment process.Vacancy Disclosure: This is a new position.Compensation: $58-65K base salary plus bonus, benefits, RRSP, gym membership, etc.Summit Search Group is a fair and equitable search firm.
