Junior Accountant -Up to $70k

We primarily service clients throughout the NY/NJ area and nationally through our AAFA network.Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accounting Specialist to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Accounting or Finance graduate, or an individual currently completing an accounting degree, to launch a career in corporate accounting within the financial services industryKey Responsibilities:Process accounts payable transactions accurately and efficientlyPrepare and post journal entriesMaintain organized accounting records and supporting documentationsReconcile vendor invoices, statements, and employee expense reportAssist with month-end and year-end close processesPerform account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial recordsOrganize and maintain both electronic and physical accounting filesPrepare financial schedules, reports, and spreadsheets using Microsoft ExcelSupport internal and external audits by providing required documentationAssist with special projects and other accounting and administrative tasks as assignedQualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or currently pursuing an Accounting degreeInternship experience or up to two years of accounting experience is preferred but not requiredSolid understanding of fundamental accounting principlesProficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting/filtering, and data managementStrong attention to detail with excellent organizational skillsAnalytical mindset with effective problem-solving abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillSelf-motivated, eager to learn, and able to work collaboratively within a teamPreferred Qualifications:Experience with accounting software or ERP systemsExposure to accounts payable, general ledger accounting, or other accounting functions through internships or previous employmentPositive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilites
