Apply & track with Apply EdgeDesign / Technical Manager, the role contributes to shop drawing reviews, material approvals, site inspections, and multidisciplinary coordination to ensure interior works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and design intent.The role is primarily site-focused, supporting day-to-day construction activities and resolution of detailing and finishing issues. As part of this, the Interior Design Engineer is expected to actively contribute to basic drafting, detailing, and preparation of sketches or redline drawings (e.g., joinery details, finish transitions, coordination fixes), ensuring timely and practical solutions without over-reliance on dedicated drafting resources.Key AccountabilitiesKey ActivitiesSite & Construction Support (Interior & Fit-Out)Provide day-to-day interior design and fit-out support on site, addressing construction queries, RFIs, and technical clarifications.Review interior works (finishes, partitions, ceilings, joinery, FF&E interfaces) to verify compliance with approved drawings and specifications.Identify site issues, detailing conflicts, or non-conformances and report to the Senior Interior Design Architect.Coordinate interior works with architectural, structural, MEPF, façade, and specialist contractors to avoid clashes.Support snagging, inspections, quality checks of interior finishes and fit-out works.Prepare and update sketches, mark-ups, and simple interior drawings/details to support site execution (e.g., joinery adjustments, finish interfaces, coordination fixes).Assist in producing red line drawings and as-built markups based on site conditions.Provide hands-on drafting support (AutoCAD/Revit) when required to resolve site issues efficiently.Ensure all sketches/drawings issued are clear, coordinated, and aligned with approved design intent.Shop Drawings, Submittals & As-Built SupportReview interior shop drawings, material submittals, finishes, samples, and method statements under supervision.Ensure compliance with design intent, specifications, and project standards.Assist in preparing technical comments and tracking submittal status.Verify that approved materials, finishes, and details are correctly implemented on site.Support preparation and validation of interior as-built drawings and records.Technical Queries, RFIs & NCR ManagementAssist in preparing responses to RFIs, Technical Queries (TQs), and site clarifications related to interior works.Support investigation and close-out of NCRs, observations, and quality issues.Coordinate with the Senior Interior Design Architect to resolve detailing and coordination issues.Maintain records of technical correspondence and site decisions.Coordination & CommunicationCoordinate with site engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers on interior and fit-out matters.Interface with other disciplines (Architectural, Structural, MEPF) for coordinated delivery.Attend coordination meetings and provide updates to senior team members.Ensure proper use of document control systems and project workflows.Continuous Improvement & Knowledge SharingDevelop knowledge of interior detailing, materials, and fit-out construction practices.Support lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.Seek guidance from senior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing.Promote best practices in interior construction quality and execution.JOB SPECIFICATIONSIndustry / DomainDesign & Build projects with interior design and fit-out scopeMultidisciplinary coordination across design and construction phasesInterior environments requiring coordination of finishes, FF&E, and detailed fit-out worksNecessary Knowledge and ExperienceMinimum 4–7 years of relevant experience in interior design or fit-out within construction or Design & Build environmentsExperience supporting shop drawing reviews, material approvals, and site executionBasic understanding of finishes, joinery, and interior detailingFamiliarity with multidisciplinary coordination and construction workflowsGood command of English (written and spoken)Education and Certification Minimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related fieldProfessional certification is an advantage but not mandatoryJob Specific and Technical SkillsWorking knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM toolsAbility to read and interpret interior drawings and specificationsBasic understanding of interior materials, finishes, and detailingAbility to produce basic drawings, sketches, and redlines to support site deliveryGood organizational and documentation skillsStrong attention to detail (critical for finishes quality)
