Junior Barista

ResponsibilitiesPrepare espresso-based beverages such as espresso, americano, latte, cappuccino, flat white, and other specialty coffee drinks according to established recipes.Assist in espresso machine operation, grinder adjustment, coffee dosing, tamping, and extraction.Maintain consistency in coffee quality, taste, presentation, and portioning.Perform daily opening and closing duties, including coffee station setup and cleaning.Assist with brewing methods such as pour-over, French press, and other manual brewing techniques.Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages while maintaining proper food and beverage safety standards.Provide friendly and efficient customer service and respond to customer requests professionally.Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, equipment, utensils, and service areas.Monitor coffee, milk, syrups, cups, and other bar supplies and report low stock to the supervisor.Assist with inventory receiving, storage, and stock rotation when required.Follow proper hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.Support senior baristas and the café team during busy operations.Assist in cashiering, order taking, and maintaining accurate customer orders when needed.Learn and apply specialty coffee knowledge, including coffee origins, flavor profiles, brewing techniques, and basic latte art.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; additional barista or hospitality training is an advantage.Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or customer service environment is preferred.Basic knowledge of specialty coffee, espresso preparation, and manual brewing methods.Familiarity with espresso machines, coffee grinders, and basic barista equipment.Good understanding of beverage preparation, hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards.Strong customer service and communication skills.Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced café environment.Willingness to learn and develop coffee preparation and latte art skills.Good attention to detail, especially in coffee quality and beverage presentation.Team-oriented, reliable, punctual, and professional.Physically able to stand for extended periods and perform routine café duties.Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and holidays when required.
