Team members join a creative, collaborative environment that values innovation in coffee culture and customer experience.Role Description The Junior Barista is a full-time, on-site role based in Jakarta, Indonesia. This role involves preparing and serving espresso-based and brewed coffee drinks using plant-based milk alternatives, following standardized recipes and quality guidelines. The Junior Barista supports daily café operations, including taking orders, handling payments, maintaining cleanliness of the bar and seating area, and restocking supplies. The role also includes engaging with guests, explaining menu items, answering questions about ingredients, and ensuring a welcoming, efficient service experience. The Junior Barista works closely with senior team members to learn new brewing techniques, improve product knowledge, and uphold health and safety standards.Qualifications Foundational barista skills, including basic espresso extraction, milk steaming (plant-based options), and beverage preparation.Customer service abilities, such as clear communication, active listening, and a friendly, professional manner with guests.Operational skills, including cash handling, point-of-sale system use, and adherence to opening and closing procedures.Hygiene and safety awareness, with the ability to follow food handling standards and maintain a clean, organized workspace.Interest in plant-based products and willingness to learn about coffee origins, flavor profiles, and menu items.Ability to stand for extended periods, work in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate effectively with a small team.Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality setting is an advantage but not required.Basic proficiency in Indonesian; conversational English is beneficial for interacting with diverse customers.
