We develop intelligent systems for analyzing physiological signals in the medical-device space. Our DSP & AI team builds the algorithms, tooling, and pipelines that turn raw vital-sign data into reliable, clinically meaningful output — and we're looking for a Junior DSP & AI Engineer to grow with us. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role: you'll touch signal processing, model development, data pipelines, deployment, and the engineering systems that hold it all together. You'll be mentored by senior engineers while owning real, meaningful work from day one. What you'll doResearch, develop, and evaluate AI and machine-learning algorithms for a range of signal-analysis problems.Design, train, and benchmark deep-learning models across different architectures and approaches, working with diverse signal inputs and output formats.Develop and maintain digital filters that clean physiological signals while preserving their diagnostic morphology.Build and maintain Python tooling that supports the team's AI development workflow.Contribute to backend decision-logic systems built in Java, applying solid object-oriented design.Build and operate data pipelines: collecting, processing, and managing the full data lifecycle with versioning (e.g. DVC).Track experiments and manage the model lifecycle using MLOps practices and tooling such as MLflow.Deploy models with strong attention to the performance-to-cost trade-off, then monitor and maintain them in production.Document your work rigorously across the entire AI lifecycle — clear, complete, and reproducible. What you bring RequiredA degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical/Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.Strong Python skills and solid programming fundamentals.Strong object-oriented programming ability and working experience with Java.Foundations in machine learning / deep learning, with hands-on use of a framework such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.Working knowledge of digital signal processing (filtering, FFT, sampling), ideally applied to time-series signals.Comfortable with Git and collaborative development practices.A disciplined, detail-oriented approach to documentation and reproducibility.Eagerness to learn and work methodically in a structured, quality-driven environment. Nice to haveExperience with data/model versioning (DVC) and reproducible ML pipelines.Exposure to MLOps workflows and experiment-tracking tools such as MLflow.Familiarity with physiological or biomedical signals (e.g. ECG, vital signs).Experience deploying, optimizing, and monitoring ML models in production. What we offerReal ownership and impactful work in a focused, collaborative AI team.Mentorship from experienced DSP and AI engineers.A learning-oriented environment where careful, well-documented engineering is genuinely valued. How to applySend your CV to hr@pulsegmbh.de and please Add DSP and AI Engineer to the email subject.A short note on why AI for signal analysis interests you is always welcome.
