Junior Electrical design engineer

Job SummaryA Junior Electrical Design Engineer assists in the design, development, and documentation of electrical systems for industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects. The role involves preparing engineering drawings, calculations, technical specifications, and supporting project execution while ensuring compliance with applicable standards and client requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the design of electrical power, lighting, grounding, and control systems.Prepare electrical drawings, layouts, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and schematics.Perform basic electrical calculations, including:Load calculationsCable sizingVoltage drop calculationsShort-circuit calculationsDevelop equipment and material specifications.Support preparation of cable schedules, panel schedules, and bill of materials (BOM).Review and interpret engineering documents, drawings, and project specifications.Coordinate with other engineering disciplines such as mechanical, instrumentation, civil, and process engineering.Ensure designs comply with relevant standards such as IEC, IEEE, NEC, and local regulations.Assist in technical reviews, design verification, and site support activities.Participate in project meetings and provide engineering support throughout project execution.Required SkillsBasic understanding of electrical engineering principles.Knowledge of power distribution systems and electrical protection concepts.Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documents.Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.Familiarity with ETAP, Dialux, EPLAN, or similar engineering software is an advantage.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Good communication and teamwork abilities.Attention to detail and commitment to quality.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.0-3 years of experience in electrical design engineering.Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.Preferred KnowledgeElectrical power systems.LV/MV distribution systems.Motor control centers (MCCs).Switchgear and transformers.Lighting and grounding systems.Industrial control systems and PLC fundamentals.
