We work closely with private banks, investment banks and other financial institutions to deliver customized investment solutions across multiple asset classes.The RoleThe Junior Investment Analyst will work closely with Portfolio Managers and senior investment professionals in supporting the day-to-day management of client portfolios, investment execution, portfolio analysis and client servicing.This role offers broad exposure to global financial markets and a wide range of investment products, making it particularly suitable for candidates who are looking to develop a career in investment management, private wealth management or multi-asset investing.Key Responsibilities
- Support the daily management and monitoring of client portfolios, including discretionary and advisory mandates across multiple custodian and private banking platforms.
- Assist with trade execution and the end-to-end trade workflow across asset classes including equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, funds, structured products and derivatives.
- Liaise with private banks, investment banks, brokers, product specialists and other counterparties to obtain market quotes, execute transactions and ensure accurate and timely trade booking and settlement.
- Monitor portfolio positions, asset allocation, investment exposures, liquidity, performance and key risk metrics, and highlight material changes or deviations to Portfolio Managers.
- Prepare portfolio performance analysis, profit and loss calculations, exposure reports and investment summaries for internal review and client discussions.
- Support Portfolio Managers in investment idea generation through macroeconomic research, company and sector analysis, valuation work and product screening.
- Conduct fundamental research, financial modelling, scenario analysis and other quantitative analysis to assess potential investment opportunities and portfolio implications.
- Assist in evaluating fixed income securities, structured products and other investment solutions offered by private banks and external counterparties.
- Prepare investment proposals, market updates, presentation materials and periodic portfolio review materials for client meetings.
- Maintain investment databases, portfolio records and internal monitoring tools to ensure investment information remains accurate and up to date.
- Support the development and improvement of internal investment tools, dashboards and reporting processes through Excel, VBA, Python or other relevant technologies.
- Work closely with investment, operations and compliance colleagues to ensure portfolios are managed and transactions are executed in accordance with internal guidelines and applicable regulatory requirements.Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Approximately 0–3 years of relevant experience in asset management, external asset management, private banking, investment research, wealth management, sales & trading or another investment-related role.
- Fresh graduates with strong academic credentials, relevant internships and demonstrated interest in financial markets are encouraged to apply.
- Strong interest in global financial markets and a willingness to develop knowledge across multiple asset classes.
- Good analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret financial information and translate analysis into practical investment insights.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Bloomberg or other financial information platforms is preferred.
- Knowledge of financial modelling, VBA, Python, SQL or other programming/data analysis tools would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with fixed income, derivatives and structured products would be beneficial but is not essential.
- High attention to detail with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities and respond to time-sensitive investment and client requests.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative and team-oriented attitude.
- Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin. Cantonese would be an advantage.
