Junior Java Software Engineer - FinTech - £70-100k

This is an exciting opportunity for a Junior Java Software Engineer to join a highly collaborative engineering team where you'll work with modern technologies, contribute to real-world projects, and learn from experienced developers who are passionate about engineering excellence.As part of an agile engineering team, you'll be involved in the full software development lifecycle, helping to design, build, test and deploy scalable backend services and distributed applications.You'll have the opportunity to:Develop enterprise-grade applications using Java 17 & Java 21Build and maintain microservices and event-driven architecturesWork with messaging technologies including Kafka and IBM MQDevelop cloud-native applications using AWSContainerise applications with DockerCollaborate with engineers using modern DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelinesContribute to system design, code reviews and technical discussionsExplore and integrate emerging AI technologies into innovative FinTech solutionsWork alongside experienced engineers who will mentor and support your developmentWe're looking for developers who are passionate about technology and eager to learn.You'll ideally have:Bachelors degree in Computer Science from a reputable universityCommercial experience developing applications with JavaExperience with Java 17 or Java 21Experience in Platform: Kubernetes Data StorageAI via Co-pilotKnowledge of Oracle SQL/PLSQLExposure to Kafka or other messaging technologiesUnderstanding of Docker and containerised applicationsSome experience working with AWS or cloud platformsFamiliarity with Git, Jenkins and JiraAn understanding of RESTful APIs and microservice architecturesAny exposure to Golang or AI technologies would be a huge advantage
