Junior Merchandiser

A fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Junior Merchandiser to join one of the fastest growing high street retailers. The Junior Merchandiser should have a minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Merchandiser with allocation experience, people management skills and a good trading mind set as the organisation has had continual and exceptional like for like sale growth.

Key Responsibilities

-Ownership of WSSI forecasting/reforecasting using ExcelAnalysing trade performance and identifying current/future trading opportunitiesManaging pre-season and in-season OTBManaging markdown requirement with the Buying teamsCollaborating with the Buying teams at range planning meetingsSetting up seasonal Planners/Catalogues for the Buying teamsDeveloping seasonal option plans for various sectionsDriving sales and profit through efficient use of stockGuiding, mentoring and training our Allocation TeamBuilding and analyzing reports making effective decisions based on theseBuilding Allocation & Replenishment Strategies & following these through to execution & evaluationMonitor sales and stock (markdowns, trading risks and changing season codes twice yearly)Analysis and administration, maintaining accurate paperwork and making sure there are no data inaccuraciesTo be completely aware of the development of the range and option plans (responsibility with the buying team and checking, updating and maintaining of store and style grading ensuring all opportunities are maximised)Making sure that the merchandise controller is well briefed on all issues under your remit and that to adhere to company policy under the direction of the merchandiserTo consistently deliver against company expectations and policy and to make sure suppliers manage the same in the areas under your responsibility

Key Requirements

-Competent WSSI knowledgeMinimum 4 years’ experience within merchandisingAllocating and MAA experience requiredExcellent Excel knowledgeStrong understanding of the critical path process of product developmentClear communication at all levelsGood people management skillsGood analytical and numerical skillsThis role would require relocation just outside the UK!
