For more information, interested individuals can contact info@rhizocore.com.Role Description: The Junior Mycology Laboratory Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Atlanta, GA. This role involves preparing fungal cultures and growth media, maintaining sterile work conditions, and assisting with routine laboratory experiments related to mycorrhizal fungi. The technician will help operate and maintain laboratory equipment, record experimental observations, and support quality control checks on samples and materials. Daily responsibilities also include organizing lab supplies, following standard operating procedures, and accurately documenting data to support research and production activities. The technician will collaborate with senior laboratory staff and contribute to ongoing projects that enhance fungal-based technologies for forest and woodland applications.

Qualifications

Education to BSc or equivalent in microbiology and/or biochemistry, OR relevant practical experience in a similar line of work.Candidates should possess core laboratory skills, including basic microbiology or mycology techniques and safe handling of biological materials.Candidates should be able to work with laboratory equipment, including routine maintenance, calibration checks, and careful operation of instruments.Candidates should have experience or training in quality control, including following protocols, documenting results, and supporting standardized testing procedures.Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, such as observing, measuring, and interpreting experimental data accurately.Candidates should have familiarity with the responsibilities of laboratory technicians, including adherence to safety guidelines and regulatory standards.Relevant education such as an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in biology, microbiology, mycology, environmental science, or a related field is preferred.Ability to follow detailed instructions, maintain detailed records, and work collaboratively in a small, mission-driven team environment.Interest in fungal biology, forestry, ecology, or climate-focused technologies is beneficial.Ability to work in a productive team to meet short task deadlinesExcellent organization skills, time management and accuracy in planning workFull driving licenseTo be considered for the position, applicants must provide the documents listed below:Document 1Please provide examples of your relevant skills, abilities, knowledge and experience to support your application for this role.
