Junior Procurement Officer / Purchasing Assistant / Junior Buyer

Role Description This full-time Junior Procurement Officer / Purchasing Assistant / Junior Buyer role is a hybrid position based in Abu Dhabi, with some flexibility for work from home. The role involves assisting with end-to-end procurement activities, including preparing and processing purchase requisitions and purchase orders in line with internal policies and project requirements. The individual will support supplier sourcing, obtain and compare quotations, and participate in basic contract negotiation under guidance to secure favorable terms. Daily responsibilities include maintaining procurement records, tracking order statuses, monitoring delivery timelines, and coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure timely supply of goods and services. The role also includes checking invoices against purchase orders, resolving minor discrepancies with vendors, and contributing to continuous improvement of purchasing processes.QualificationsDemonstrated skills in Procurement and Purchasing to support sourcing, supplier management, and buying activities.Experience handling Purchase Orders, including creation, tracking, and documentation in procurement or ERP systems.Foundational abilities in Contract Negotiation and understanding of basic commercial terms to assist in supplier discussions.Strong Analytical Skills for comparing quotations, evaluating supplier performance, and preparing simple cost analyses.Relevant diploma or bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.Ability to work accurately with attention to detail, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a research-driven environment.Proficiency with MS Office tools (especially Excel) and familiarity with procurement or ERP software is an advantage.Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and external suppliers.
