Junior QA/QC Engineer – Electrical & Mechanical

Job PurposeThe Junior QA/QC Engineer will support the implementation and monitoring of quality requirements for Electrical and Mechanical works on construction projects. The role involves inspections, documentation, coordination with project teams, and ensuring that installation activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, applicable standards, and project quality requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in implementing the project Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures for Electrical and Mechanical works.Conduct site inspections for MEP installations and ensure works comply with approved shop drawings, specifications, method statements, and relevant standards.Raise and coordinate Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) and Material Inspection Requests (MIRs) with consultants and project teams.Inspect incoming Electrical and Mechanical materials and verify compliance with approved material submittals.Support inspections for electrical systems including LV systems, lighting, power distribution, containment, cable installation, earthing, and related services.Support inspections for mechanical systems including HVAC, chilled water, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and associated equipment installations.Assist in identifying quality issues and raising Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where required.Follow up with site teams to ensure NCRs, observations, and inspection comments are rectified and closed within the required timeframe.Maintain QA/QC documentation, inspection records, checklists, test reports, approvals, and other quality records.Coordinate with Site Engineers, Construction Teams, Consultants, Subcontractors, and QA/QC Engineers regarding inspection and quality requirements.Assist with testing and commissioning activities and maintain relevant testing records.Ensure installations are completed according to approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).Participate in internal quality inspections, audits, and project quality meetings when required.Assist in preparing project handover documentation, snagging/de-snagging records, and final quality dossiers.Ensure all quality documentation is properly maintained and readily available for audits and project handover.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related MEP discipline.Minimum 2–5 years of experience in QA/QC, MEP construction, or building services projects.Previous experience with an MEP contractor or main contractor is preferred.UAE/GCC construction experience is an advantage.Basic understanding of Electrical and Mechanical installation practices and quality requirements.Familiarity with WIRs, MIRs, ITPs, Method Statements, NCRs, material submittals, and QA/QC documentation.Ability to read and understand MEP drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and technical documents.Basic knowledge of relevant international and local codes and standards.
