This position is based in the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering and is part of a bilateral research collaboration with National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan, supported under the DST–INAE India–Taiwan Program of Cooperation in Science & Technology.Role Description: The Junior Research Fellow will work on the project “3D Printed Tacky Liquid Metal–Ionogel Hybrids for Bioelectronic Interfaces.” The research focuses on developing soft, conductive, and adhesive polymeric materials for wearable and skin-interfaced bioelectronics, spanning materials formulation, functional composites, rheology/3D printing, electrical characterization, and bioelectronic interfaces.The position includes a funded research visit to NCKU, Taiwan. The fellowship is ₹37,000/month + 10% HRA as JRF, with upgradation to ₹42,000/month + 10% HRA as SRF as per applicable norms. Expected joining is September 2026 / immediately after selection.QualificationsM.Sc./M.Tech./M.E. or equivalent degree in Polymer Science/Chemistry, Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Nanotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics, Instrumentation, or a related field.Must satisfy the applicable Government of India eligibility requirements for appointment as a JRF.Strong preference for candidates with hands-on experimental research experience in one or more of the following:Polymer chemistry and soft materialsIonogels, hydrogels, or related gel systemsFunctional/conductive compositesRheology and printable materialsSurface/interface science and adhesionFlexible, printed, or wearable electronicsExperience with electrical transport, impedance/electrical characterization, bioelectronics, flexible sensors, electrophysiology, or related device measurements would be an added advantage.Prior experience with liquid metals is desirable but not essential.Candidates with a strong materials synthesis/formulation and experimental research background are particularly encouraged to apply. Interest in pursuing further research or doctoral studies is required.
