Rohini Hospital is committed to continuous improvement in clinical standards and service quality.Role Description The Junior Resident in Orthopaedics will provide inpatient and outpatient care under the supervision of senior orthopaedic consultants, including history-taking, physical examination, and formulation of preliminary management plans. Daily responsibilities include assisting in orthopaedic surgeries and procedures, monitoring post-operative patients, writing progress notes, and ensuring accurate documentation of clinical findings. The role also involves participating in ward rounds, coordinating with nursing and allied health teams, responding to emergency orthopaedic cases, and supporting pre- and post-operative counselling. The Junior Resident is expected to engage in clinical meetings, case discussions, and ongoing learning to enhance orthopaedic knowledge and skills. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Rohini Hospital in Thrissur.Qualifications Recognized MBBS degree with successful completion of internship; registration with the appropriate medical council.Foundational clinical skills in history-taking, physical examination, differential diagnosis, and formulation of basic treatment plans.Basic orthopaedic knowledge, including common fractures, joint disorders, trauma management, and post-operative care.Competence in routine clinical procedures (e.g., IV line insertion, wound care, splinting, and assisting in minor and major orthopaedic procedures).Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.Ability to work in high-pressure clinical environments, prioritize tasks, and respond promptly to emergencies.Commitment to ethical medical practice, patient safety, and adherence to hospital protocols and infection control standards.Willingness to work rotational shifts, including nights and weekends, and to participate in continuous professional development.Previous exposure or training in orthopaedics through postings or electives is an advantage.
