Junior Software Engineer – AI Native

I'm working with a VC-backed consumer social company building the next generation of a category-defining product, backed by top-tier US and European investors. This isn't a "years of experience" or "framework checklist" role — it's about how you think, how fast you learn, and whether you can go deep on hard problems.What they're looking for:Ideally 1–2 years' experience, but exceptional graduates will be consideredExcellent software engineering fundamentals — not just working code, but code that holds upTech agnostic: the stack is Rust, Swift and TypeScript/Node.js, and experience in any of these will help significantly, but they're hiring the engineer first, the stack secondGenuinely AI-native — not "I use Copilot for autocomplete," but someone using AI tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, custom agents/workflows) to expand what they're capable of building and shippingStrong research instincts: able to take an unfamiliar, hard-to-conceptualise engineering problem, work it from first principles, and turn genuine understanding into working software — a research mindset, not just a "prompt and ship" oneComfortable moving across mobile, backend, internal tooling and infrastructureEvidence of curiosity beyond assigned tickets — open source, dev tooling, ambitious side projects, independent researchA real interest in consumer product and social technology, not just engineering for its own sakeThey're specifically not looking for someone who treats AI as a code-completion tool. They want engineers who use it to punch above their weight — tackling problems and scope that would normally be out of reach at their level.You don't need to tick every box.
