Junior Software Engineer | Up to £50,000 | London, HybridHere at Burns Sheehan, we have exclusively partnered with a London-based Investment Firm as they look to bring a Junior Software Engineer into their exciting and fast-growing technical team.This is a fantastic opportunity for a Software Engineer with 1-3 years of commercial experience who is looking to take the next step in their career, gain exposure to different areas of software engineering and develop their skills within a collaborative, technically strong team.As a Junior Software Engineer, you will work across multiple areas of the platform, gaining hands-on experience across backend development, frontend engineering and data analysis. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to new features, write clean and well-tested code, develop and maintain existing applications, and work closely with experienced engineers and stakeholders across the business.This role would suit someone who is proactive, curious and comfortable taking ownership, with a genuine interest in solving problems and developing their technical abilities. You'll receive support from experienced engineers, but will also be encouraged to work independently, ask questions and contribute ideas.What we're looking for:1-3 years of commercial Software Engineering experience.Bachelor's Degree ideally in STEM.Experience with backend development, ideally Python (Django, FastAPI or similar).Exposure to data analysis tools such as pandas, NumPy or Plotly.Frontend development experience, ideally React and TypeScript.Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset.Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of technical challenges.Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn.Experience within Financial Services or proficiency in Excel would be advantageous, but not essential.This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing engineering team where you'll be given real responsibility, exposure to different technologies and the opportunity to develop into a well-rounded Software Engineer.Sound interesting?
