With our head office in Brampton, ON, and terminals in Langley (BC), and Calgary (AB), we specialize in long-haul, temperature-controlled LTL and FTL intermodal transportation from coast to coast.Position OverviewThe Junior Staff Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting and administrative operations of Action Force Transport. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone with a foundation in accounting who is organized, eager to learn, and interested in building a long-term career with the company.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with daily accounting activities, financial recordkeeping, and general ledger maintenance.Prepare and enter journal entries and support bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and account reviews.Support payroll-related accounting activities, recordkeeping, and reconciliations.Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities and financial reporting.Review and verify financial documentation, expenses, and transportation-related invoices.Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal departments regarding accounting inquiries and discrepancies.Provide ad hoc HR support, including employee documentation, onboarding, attendance tracking, and general HR administration.Maintain accurate and organized financial and employee records while ensuring confidentiality.Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as required.Required Skills & CompetenciesBasic understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, and financial recordkeeping.Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.Dependable, adaptable, and willing to learn new responsibilities.Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.Interest in building a stable, long-term career with the company.Education & QualificationsDiploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.Previous accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative experience is considered an asset.Previous experience in transportation or logistics is preferred but not required.Familiarity with Trimble TruckMate (TMW) is preferred but not required.Exposure to payroll or HR administration is preferred but not required.CompensationCompetitive salary based on qualifications and experience, with opportunities for professional development and long-term growth within the company.
