This collective knowledge makes the Batch DNA very special to us.If this sounds a lot like who you are, see below about who we're looking for.Why we need a Junior Strategy & Ops Associate at BatchGrowing this fast breaks things. Manual workarounds pile up, the same problems come back every week, and the team spends its days firefighting instead of fixing. So we are splitting our operation in two. Service Ops runs the day to day - fulfillment, delivery and support. Strategic Ops designs how that operation should work: processes, automation, carrier integrations, playbooks and the metrics everyone steers by. One team runs today, the other builds next quarter.Strategic Ops is currently one person. You will be the second - and the execution arm of the roadmap.Your mission is to turn operational problems into shipped solutions, and to make the improvements stick. But part of this job is not about fixing what exists. Strategic Ops owns the projects that define where Batch — and this industry — goes next. Proactive Logistics is one of them: anticipating and reacting to order delays before the customer knows about it. That is unusual exposure for a first or second job, and we are aware of it.Be a part of our story by applying to this small, high-leverage team. What you will do at BatchYou will work directly with our Head of Strategic Ops and the whole team on the projects that decide whether our service holds up as we double again. This is not a research role: everything you produce is meant to change how the operation runs the following week.A typical month in this role will look like this:Talk to the people who live the problems. Sit with the support, delivery and fulfillment teams, and with the brands we work for, to understand what they actually need - which is rarely what we assume from a spreadsheet. Read what customers write in their reviews. What you hear becomes the roadmap.Look outside. Follow what is happening in the market - trends, tools, what other logistics and commerce players are building — and help decide where our time and money are best spent. We are a small team, so choosing what not to do matters as much as choosing what to build.Take a real operational problem apart. Pull the data, find where the volume actually comes from, and come back with a recommendation rather than a report. Example: 46% of our support tickets come from end consumers — which of those should never have existed?Build the automations that remove work. Carrier cases that open themselves, templates that stop coming back wrongly filled, alerts that fire before a delay becomes a complaint. You will use AI tools heavily here, and we expect you to be fast with them.Write the playbooks, SOPs and dashboards the teams work from - and define what the metrics on them actually mean.Support carrier integrations, from mapping the flows to testing them in production.See it through with the teams who will use it. A process or tool only counts once people are actually working that way. You will be there when it goes live, watch where it breaks in real use, train the teams on it, and stay with it until it holds - chasing the loose ends across support, delivery, fulfillment and tech until they are actually closed. In your first three months, you will join us one week before the busiest period of our year. That is deliberate: high season is when every process shows exactly where it breaks, and you will have a front row seat to all of it.TeamStrategic OpsLocationLisbon, Portugal (office)CompensationAccording to experience + Annual bonus tied to service objectives.Who we're looking forYou have up to 3 years of experience — consulting, operations, analytics, a fast growing startup, or a strong internship track record. This can be your first job or your second; what matters is how you think, not how long you have been doing it. We will teach you the logistics part. You are a structured problem solver. Given a messy, badly defined problem, your instinct is to break it into parts, size them, and decide what matters most. You are comfortable when nobody has framed the question for you yet.You are good with data. You can get to an answer in a spreadsheet, you are curious about SQL if you do not know it yet, and you do not confuse an average with an insight. You are genuinely fast with AI. You already use it to do in an hour what used to take a day, and you would rather build a small tool than repeat a manual task twice. This is not a bonus point for us — it is central to how this team works. You are a finisher. You follow up without being reminded, you close loops, and when something is blocked you go and unblock it rather than reporting that it is blocked. You get things done through people you do not manage. Most of your projects will need someone in support, delivery or tech to change how they work. You will need to bring them along with clarity and evidence, not authority. You write clearly in Portuguese and English.Bonus points if you also:Have worked with no-code or automation tools (Zapier, n8n, Make) or built something small yourselfHave touched logistics, e-commerce, marketplaces or customer support beforeHave a Business, Economics, Engineering or Management backgroundWorking at BatchOur culture: a culture of ownership, reliability and big goals. These are early days at Batch, so we're looking for people with good hearts who can also build on and shape our culture.Real ownership, early: this is a two person team working on the problems the CEO cares about most. Nobody will be checking your work line by line, and what you build will be running the operation.Academy: one hour a day of structured onboarding during your first month — platform, operations, support, sales and Batch context, taught by the people who run each area.Exciting offsite: we believe that everyone at Batch should have a seat at the table. We get together once per year to share ideas, agree on priorities and bond.Efficient workstation: a top notch work setup with the computer model you like best, so you can be as productive as you can. Most of us use Apple Macbook model.Collaborative tools: as our company grows fast, we use the latest and greatest tech stack to enable collaboration and great ideas. Some tools include Google Workspace, Notion, ClaudeCode - plus whatever AI tooling makes you faster.Competitive compensation: a competitive compensation pack so you are happy and excited to work here. And if you're a top performer, your compensation will grow as you keep delivering.Time off: 25 vacation days per year. You will be building the future of logistics with your own hands.
