Our integrated ship management organization covers crewing, safety, maintenance, procurement, operations, sale & purchase, newbuilding construction and chartering. The owned fleet consists of 41 vessels from 4,500 dwt to 180,000 dwt (small product tankers and bunkering tankers, LR1, Suezmax, Capesize) rapidly expanding with a newbuilding program of MR1, LR1, LR2, VLCC and Newcastlemax, with deliveries between 2026 and 2029. The owned fleet serves both Mercuria’s freight trading business as well as handling all shipping activities of Minerva Bunkering, the world’s largest marine fuels physical supplier, a Mercuria wholly owned subsidiary.General Description and ResponsibilitiesAs a Junior Superintendent Engineer you will get involved in the technical supervision of the company's fleet, assisting in the daily monitoring of the vessels and in various projects, with main focus on:Implementation and development of Company’s Preventive Maintenance System.Monitoring Certification, Surveys and Class related matters.Upholding technical library, ships drawings and manuals.Monitoring ship performance and energy efficiency.Assisting in preparation for drydocking.Participating in Newbuilding and Retrofit projects.Understanding and assisting in the implementation of industry rules and regulationsAs member of the Technical Department you will be supported by dedicated colleagues to familiarize yourself with the fleet and you will participate in selected training programs.To fill this position, you need to have a passion for shipping, team spirit and be highly motivated as an individual. You will join a young and energetic group of skilled professionals and be part of the shipping arm of one of the largest commodity trading groups in the world.Qualifications and ProfileUniversity Degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or related discipline.1-2 years working experience in a similar position in a shipping company.Small sea service experience (preferably tanker ships) is a advantage.Proficient in computing and software applications. Fast with data entry and systems/software, Experience with ERP systems, and especially any shipping system is an advantage but not mandatory.Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.Attention to detail, ability to prioritize work.Good organizational Skills.The company offers competitive salary and benefits in a multinational environment.Applications will be treated with strict confidence.
