Apply & track with Apply EdgeWe are seeking a motivated and professional Junior Swim Coach to join our Swimming Academy. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality swimming instruction to students across a range of ages and abilities, helping them develop strong swimming techniques, water confidence, physical fitness, and a positive attitude towards sport.The Junior Swim Coach will contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment while supporting the school’s wider swimming and extracurricular programmes.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver safe, engaging, and age-appropriate swimming lessons and coaching sessions.Teach and develop fundamental swimming skills and techniques across all major strokes.Plan and adapt sessions according to students’ age, ability, and individual learning needs.Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback.Promote water safety, discipline, teamwork, confidence, and healthy participation in sport.Maintain the highest standards of student supervision and pool safety at all times.Support school swimming teams, competitions, galas, and extracurricular activities.Maintain accurate attendance and student progress records.Work collaboratively with PE teachers, coaches, and school leadership.Communicate professionally with parents and colleagues when required.Ensure swimming equipment and facilities are used safely and maintained appropriately.Follow all school policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, and student welfare.Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development as required.Candidate RequirementsRecognised swimming teaching or coaching qualification.Current CPR and First Aid certification.Lifeguard qualification is highly desirable.Previous experience teaching or coaching children, preferably within a school or structured sports environment.Strong knowledge of swimming techniques, water safety, and age-appropriate coaching practices.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Patient, enthusiastic, positive, and encouraging approach to working with children.Strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.Ability to work effectively as part of a professional PE and Aquatics team.
