We are seeking a Junior UI/UX designer to help create clear, intuitive, and effective user experiences for enterprise web applications, AI applications, and AI-enabled tools.Role Description:This is a full-time, in-person position based in Arlington, VA; it is not a remote position. Working with guidance from senior team members, the Junior UI/UX Designer will translate business and user needs into practical interface concepts, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready designs. The designer will collaborate closely with software developers, product and project team members, and client stakeholders throughout iterative development cycles. The ability to understand enterprise business-system functions and discuss what is technically feasible, constrained, or costly with development teams is essential.Minimum Job Requirements:Training or demonstrated experience in UI/UX design, interaction design, visual design, human-computer interaction, or a related field through employment, internships, freelance work, coursework, or equivalent practical experience.Approximately 0-2 years of relevant design experience; strong internship, academic, or personal-project work will be considered.Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, information technology, or a related field is preferred but not required.A portfolio of previous UI/UX design work must be included with the application. The portfolio may include professional, internship, academic, freelance, or personal projects and should show the candidate’s design process as well as final outcomes.Must be a Green Card holder or U.S. citizen due to security and contractual requirements.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Working knowledge of user-centered design principles, information architecture, interaction design, responsive design, and common usability practices.Experience creating user flows, wireframes, mockups, interactive prototypes, and clear design specifications.Strong business analysis skills, including the ability to gather and clarify customer requirements, understand enterprise business processes and workflows, and translate business needs into practical, user-friendly UI solutionsExperience with Figma or Bluescape is highly desired; familiarity with design systems, component libraries, and collaborative review workflows is a plus.Experience designing enterprise web applications, dashboards, data-heavy workflows, or internal business tools is a significant plus.Ability to learn and understand enterprise business processes, user roles, permissions, data relationships, and system workflows.Ability to work directly with software development teams, communicate design intent, understand technical possibilities and limitations, and adjust designs without losing sight of user needs.Interest in designing AI applications and AI-enabled tools, including experiences that clearly communicate system status, results, limitations, and user controls.Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices is preferred.Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus and will help the designer collaborate effectively with front-end developers.Ability to communicate clearly, receive and apply feedback, manage time effectively, and contribute in a fast-paced, highly collaborative Agile environment.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:Designs user interfacesCreates user flows, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and detailed interface designs for enterprise web applications, AI applications, and AI tools under the guidance of senior team members.Translates business needs into usable experiencesLearns client workflows, user roles, system functions, and data needs, then helps organize complex requirements into clear and efficient interfaces.Collaborates directly with customers to understand their requirements, identify user and business needs, present UI recommendations, and refine proposed solutions based on customer feedback and technical feasibility.Collaborates with software development teamsReviews design ideas with developers early, understands implementation constraints and opportunities, and refines designs based on technical feasibility.Supports iterative product developmentParticipates in discovery sessions, design reviews, Agile ceremonies, usability feedback, and acceptance reviews throughout the software development lifecycle.Creates implementation-ready design documentationProvides clear annotations, interaction behavior, responsive states, reusable components, and assets needed for development handoff.Contributes to design consistencyFollows and improves design systems, style guides, component libraries, and accessibility patterns across products.Designs for AI-assisted workflowsHelps create understandable and trustworthy experiences for AI-generated outputs, user input, review, correction, feedback, and human oversight.Communicates progress and incorporates feedbackShares work with project teams and stakeholders, explains design decisions, asks thoughtful questions, and responds constructively to review.Owns assigned workManages priorities, meets agreed deadlines, checks design quality, and follows tasks through implementation in partnership with the delivery team.Additional Job Duties:Other duties as assigned.
