KG teacher assistant

Role Description The KG Teacher Assistant role at Ihsan International School is a full-time, on-site position based in Istanbul. The KG Teacher Assistant supports classroom teachers in delivering age-appropriate learning activities, helping to prepare materials, organize resources, and maintain a safe, engaging learning environment. Daily responsibilities include assisting with instruction in basic literacy and numeracy, guiding students during individual and group activities, and reinforcing positive behavior and classroom routines. The role involves supervising children during playtime, meals, and transitions, as well as supporting classroom documentation, communication with families when required, and collaboration with the teaching team to meet students’ developmental and educational needs.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Assistant Teaching skills, including supporting lesson delivery and classroom management in early childhood or primary education settings.Candidates should possess clear and respectful Communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, colleagues, and families in a multicultural school environment.Candidates should possess a foundation in Education, preferably with training or coursework in early childhood or primary education.Candidates should possess basic Mathematics skills to support early numeracy activities and classroom exercises.Candidates should possess experience Working With Children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and the ability to respond to diverse learning and behavioral needs.Additional beneficial qualifications include proficiency in English, strong organizational skills, collaborative work style, and familiarity with international or bilingual school environments.A relevant diploma or degree in education or a related field, and prior experience as a teaching assistant or early years educator, are highly preferred.
