Role DescriptionThe KYC Analyst will support Know Your Customer activities by reviewing customer information, verifying documentation, conducting risk assessments, and helping ensure customer records meet established compliance and regulatory requirements. The role focuses on customer due diligence, identity verification, risk identification, documentation review, and maintaining accurate compliance records.Key responsibilities include reviewing customer onboarding information, identification documents, corporate records, ownership structures, and other relevant information to determine whether required KYC requirements have been satisfied. The role will verify information against approved internal and external sources and identify missing, inconsistent, or potentially inaccurate details.The position will perform customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence activities according to established procedures and risk-based requirements. Responsibilities may include assessing customer profiles, reviewing ownership and control structures, identifying risk indicators, and escalating unusual or higher-risk cases for further assessment.The KYC Analyst will conduct screening activities against applicable sanctions, politically exposed person (PEP), adverse media, and other relevant watchlists using approved compliance systems and databases. The role will investigate potential matches, document findings, and escalate cases according to established procedures.Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate KYC records, updating customer profiles, monitoring documentation expiry dates, supporting periodic reviews, and ensuring case files contain appropriate evidence and rationale. The role may also assist with remediation exercises, customer information refreshes, and compliance projects.The position will prepare case summaries, review notes, exception reports, and other documentation required for internal compliance processes. The role will collaborate with compliance, risk, legal, operations, onboarding, and other teams to resolve documentation or customer verification issues.The successful candidate should be analytical, detail-oriented, objective, and comfortable reviewing large amounts of information. Strong judgment, investigative ability, and attention to regulatory requirements are essential.QualificationsBachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Finance, Accounting, Law, Business Administration, Compliance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.Strong understanding of KYC, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) principles.Familiarity with customer identification, identity verification, beneficial ownership, source of funds, source of wealth, and customer risk assessment concepts.Understanding of sanctions screening, PEP screening, adverse media searches, and other customer risk indicators.Ability to review and validate identification documents, corporate documentation, ownership information, and customer records.Strong analytical and investigative skills with the ability to identify inconsistencies, unusual patterns, and potential compliance concerns.Ability to conduct structured research using reliable internal and external information sources.Strong attention to detail when reviewing customer data, documents, screening results, and case records.Familiarity with KYC, AML, compliance, CRM, case-management, or screening platforms is advantageous.Ability to document investigation findings, decisions, escalations, and supporting evidence clearly and accurately.Understanding of risk-based compliance approaches and customer risk classification.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain findings clearly and professionally.Ability to handle confidential customer and business information responsibly.Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple cases, reviews, and deadlines.Ability to follow established compliance procedures, internal controls, and escalation requirements consistently.Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to distinguish routine issues from matters requiring escalation.Familiarity with relevant AML/KYC regulatory requirements and industry practices is advantageous.Professional certifications such as ACAMS, ICA, or equivalent compliance qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory.Ability to collaborate effectively with compliance, risk, legal, operations, onboarding, and business teams.Proactive and integrity-focused approach with a strong commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
