This role supports mechanical and aerospace engineering laboratories by preparing equipment and materials for practical sessions, ensuring that all laboratory setups meet safety and quality standards. The Lab Assistant assists faculty and students during experiments, provides guidance on the correct use of laboratory equipment, and helps maintain accurate records of lab activities and inventories. Daily responsibilities include routine inspection, calibration, and basic maintenance of lab instruments, organizing lab spaces for efficient use, and supporting project work and research activities as required. The role also involves coordinating with the academic team to implement laboratory procedures, complying with health and safety regulations, and contributing to continuous improvement of lab operations.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong laboratory skills and hands-on experience with mechanical and aerospace laboratory practices.Candidates should possess experience in handling and maintaining laboratory equipment, including basic troubleshooting and calibration.Candidates should possess quality control skills to ensure experiments, data, and lab processes meet required standards.Candidates should possess analytical skills to interpret experimental results, identify issues, and support problem-solving in lab activities.Candidates should possess effective communication skills to interact with faculty, students, and technical staff, and to document procedures clearly.Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related discipline.Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and regulatory compliance relevant to engineering labs.Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural academic environment and manage multiple tasks in a busy lab setting.Prior experience as a lab assistant or technician in mechanical or aerospace labs is an advantage.
