Lab Engineer- Computer and Information Engineering- UAE National

Job PurposeSupport the effective, safe, and high-quality operation of teaching and research laboratories within Khalifa University’s Department of Computer and Information Engineering.About the RoleThe Lab Engineer will work closely with faculty to provide technical and operational support for laboratories in areas such as Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and related computer and information engineering disciplines. The role supports laboratory teaching, student projects, equipment readiness, and continuous improvement of lab procedures.ResponsibilitiesManage the day-to-day operations of assigned laboratories.Prepare laboratory experiments, demonstrations, and related materials under faculty guidance.Calibrate, maintain, and monitor laboratory equipment.Guide students on laboratory safety and correct equipment use.Maintain quality, safety, security, and institutional compliance standards.Consult with faculty on coursework requirements and student projects.Support the design and improvement of experimental procedures.Maintain clean, organized, and safe laboratory environments.Manage equipment inventory and monitor related budget expenditure.Report safety or security risks in accordance with institutional policies.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Robotics and AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.At least 1–2 years of relevant laboratory or technical experience; strong fresh graduates with a Master’s degree may also be considered.Familiarity with laboratory safety standards.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication skills.Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty and students.Willingness to learn new laboratory tools, equipment, and technologies.
