This is a practical, lab-based role where you'll be responsible for assembling prototypes, supporting testing activities, and working closely with engineers throughout the product development cycle. If you enjoy building, troubleshooting, and bringing new concepts into reality, this could be an excellent opportunity.Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble and integrate prototype hardware, including electrical wiring, mechanical components, and electronic assemblies.Build and modify prototype systems using engineering documentation, technical drawings, and CAD models.Operate laboratory and prototyping equipment such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and standard workshop tools to produce custom components.Carry out functional, environmental, and performance testing to verify prototype operation and identify areas for improvement.Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hardware integration issues, implementing corrective actions where required.Maintain accurate records of prototype builds, test activities, engineering changes, and laboratory procedures.Support engineers during product development, validation, and design iterations.RequirementsDegree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.At least 3 years of practical experience in hardware assembly, laboratory engineering, prototype development, manufacturing, or a similar technical environment.Strong hands-on experience with electrical wiring, soldering, cable assembly, and mechanical integration.Ability to interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, technical documentation, and bills of materials (BOMs).Experience using prototyping equipment, including 3D printers, laser cutters, or other fabrication tools.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a structured approach to diagnosing technical issues.Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.Exposure to embedded electronics, sensors, microcontrollers, or basic programming is advantageous.
