Laboratory Assistant

PurposeThe Laboratory Assistant will perform release & stability testing for tests such as Spray Pattern, Droplet Size Distribution by Laser Diffraction, Particulate matter.Position / Job TitleAnalyticalDepartmentR&DReporting ToR&D HeadLocationConcord – CanadaYears of Experience0 to 2 years related experienceDosage FormSolid/Nasal / LiquidJob Responsibilities / Deliverables:Prepare documents and reports necessary for GMP activities.Perform analytical method validation for new pharmaceutical products.Perform Spray Pattern and Droplet Size Distribution by Laser Diffraction testing for the release of bulk and placebo formulations and for finished product.Perform physical/comparative testing on commercial productsConduct testing of stability and developmental stability samplesEvaluate all results generated for consistency and accuracy and notify manager of any trends, atypical results or out-of-specification resultOperate a variety of standard laboratory equipment (Malvern Srpaytec and Vereo actuator NSx, pH meter, balances, etc.).Ensure that work is performed in compliance with GMP, GLP, SOPs, and current test methods.Any other duties as assignedQualifications & Pre-Requisites:B.Sc. or M. Sc degree or equivalent in an applicable discipline of science (pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, medical laboratory science or related)0 to 2 years of experience in a pharmaceutical R&D laboratory and / or CMO settingExperience in method validation, method transfer and method equivalence tests would be an assetFamiliar with working with instruments with software, ICH guidance and US pharmacopeia.Analytical skills required to handle complex products.Experience in working on liquid products will be an asset.Great attitude and motivated to learn new skills.Good written and oral communication skillsAdditional notes:This position will be required to work in afternoon shift
