Laboratory Assistant

Bay IVF Center is a fertility clinic in Palo Alto, and we help people build their families. Our embryology and endocrinology lab is a small, careful, close-knit team, and we are looking for a Lab Assistant to help keep it running smoothly.What you'll do- Perform semen assessment and sperm preparations- Maintain the cobas instrument and run tests, reporting results in a timely manner- Prepare culture media and labeled dishes for egg retrieval, fertilization and embryo culture- Help with specimen handling and labeling, following strict chain-of-custody and double-check procedures- Set up and clean up the lab for daily procedures- Clean, stock and maintain lab equipment, incubators and workstations- Keep inventory of lab supplies and consumables, and place orders as needed- Log temperatures, gas levels and other daily checks- Support quality control and documentation, and follow our written SOPs- Help the embryologists wherever neededWhat we're looking for- Bachelor's in biological science field- Lab experience preferred- Careful, detail-oriented, and comfortable following procedures exactly- Steady hands, good judgment, and respect for patient confidentiality- Reliable, calm under pressure, and a good team member- Able to work some weekends and holidaysDetails- Schedule: Full time- Location: Palo Alto, CA (on-site)Why join usThis is meaningful work in a supportive, hands-on setting.
