قدّم وتابع مع أبلاي إيدجJob Title: Lab Equipment Specialist (Flow Cytometry & Cell Sorting Instrumentation)Division/Department: Research Operations Reports to: Biological Technologies UnitPosition SummaryThe Lab Equipment Maintenance Specialist provides professional service and support for laboratory research equipment by performing field service repairs, maintenance, and calibrations. He/she will prepare, plan and complete user maintenance and equipment operation training sessions. The LEM Maintenance Specialist will deliver the highest level of service to maximize equipment uptime while minimizing maintenance costs.The LEM Maintenance Specialist will work within guidelines established by the LEM Manager and Laboratory Equipment Maintenance Leads and follow established standard operating procedures.Major ResponsibilitiesRespond quickly to maintenance and troubleshooting requestsConfer with lab equipment operators, manufacturers and local agents to diagnose problems and implement appropriate solutionsIdentify required spare parts, work with the lead to optimize stock level and assist with the ordering process.Timely completion of service reports for all maintenance performedMaximize insourcing of maintenance activities and coordinate vendor visits, if necessary, while minimizing the equipment downtime.Record all service-related activities in field service report.Participate in professional development training, seminars, and other activities to remain at a highly competent level of expertise on assigned equipmentCollaborate with the team to sustain high service levels through workload sharing and cross-training.Instruct users on preventative equipment maintenance strategies and proper instrument useProvide occasional value-added user training sessions on assigned equipment within your expertiseDevelop and maintain safe habits and practices with regard to safety requirements on-site and in the workshop and report any breaches or concerns on health and safety matters to the appropriate supervisorParticipate in process improvement project to improve efficiency and increase automationCompetenciesDemonstrated ability to effectively troubleshoot major electrical and mechanical components of research instruments and equipment and make repairs in a timely mannerDemonstrated professional customer service skills and etiquetteManages a varied workload while under pressure; accomplishing tasks with minimal supervisionTeam player with a flexible can-do attitudeExcellent problem solving and analytical skillsStrong planning and organizational skillsAbility to communicate in a clear and concise mannerExcellent command of the English language (read, write and speak English)Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural international environment and help foster a cooperative work environmentAbility to develop high quality Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)QualificationsEssential: Bachelor’s degree in science or engineeringEssential: Factory service training in the class of equipment covered by the unitEssential: Proficiency with Microsoft Office SuitePreferable: Proficiency with using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) such as SAP.Preferable: Training in quality systems such as ISO 9001:2015, Six Sigma and Lean principles.ExperienceMinimum of 3 years as a Field Service Engineer or In-House Maintenance Engineer with hands-on experience maintaining and servicing (flow cytometry & cell sorting instrumentation), with completed service-factory training.Hands-on experience with Becton Dickinson, Beckman Coulter, Thermo Fisher, or comparable high-end flow cytometry systems.Additional experience with other advanced life science platforms, such as liquid handling systems, DNA sequencing platforms like Illumina, or PacBio, is a plus.Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to handle the service workload from day one.
