Laboratory Manager, Anatomic Pathology

*** U.S. Residents Only - No Sponsorship ***Manager, Anatomic Pathology SystemsFull-Time, Direct Hire, Onsite Monday – Friday, Day Shift$45–$62/hour plus bonuses and fully paid benefitsThis is a leadership opportunity overseeing the day-to-day operations in the Anatomic Pathology department, including Histology, Surgical Pathology, Cytopathology, staffing, quality, compliance, and workflow management. The Manager will lead and develop the AP team while ensuring high-quality testing, strong turnaround times, regulatory compliance, and efficient laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee daily Anatomic Pathology operations, including Histology, Surgical Pathology, and CytopathologyManage staff scheduling, training, competency assessments, performance evaluations, hiring, and employee developmentOversee QA/QC, CAP and CLIA compliance, inspection readiness, and corrective actionsLead workflow and process-improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and turnaround timesDevelop and manage operating/capital budgets and monitor departmental expendituresCollaborate closely with Pathologists, laboratory leadership, and other hospital departmentsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of equivalent experience2+ years of leadership experienceStrong Anatomic Pathology/Histology operations and regulatory knowledgeASCP certification as one of the following:Histotechnologist, HTL(ASCP)Histotechnician, HT(ASCP)Cytotechnologist, CT(ASCP)Pathologists’ Assistant, PA(ASCP)Preferred:Master’s degreeASCP Histotechnology Specialist certificationStrong experience with CAP inspections, quality management, process improvement, and laboratory leadershipThis role would be a strong opportunity for an experienced Histology or Anatomic Pathology leader looking to take ownership of a broader AP operation and make an impact across quality, people, and laboratory performance.
