The main objectives of this position are to ensure smooth operation of multi-user laboratories, coordinate equipment calibration, perform Preventive Maintenance, small equipment repairs, and promote a safe work environment among lab users. Maintains clean, organized lab spaces and ensures workstations are prepared for use. This position will report to the Laboratory Operations Manager in Bangaluru.Responsibilities:Supports equipment management process, monthly calibration and preventative maintenance while maintaining equipment availabilityProvides or supports organization of training, guidance, and assistance to personnel on use of lab equipmentEnsures laboratory cleanliness, storing materials in designated areas or properly disposing in accordance with lab guidelinesActively supports safe working environment and promotes culture of safety in the lab settingsMaintains inventory of personal protective equipment, consumable materials, chemical storage, and Safety Data Sheets on all chemicals in lab Assists with lab improvement projectsPerform preventive maintenance on R&D toolsPerforms or supports execution of small repairs as directedPerforms other duties as necessaryRequired Skills and Competencies:Experienced with building relationships with engineering staff and vendors in laboratory settingUnderstanding basic manual assembly, test, and quality assessment techniques.Impacts own team through the quality of own work, services or information providedRecognizes and solves routine problems that can occur in own work area with or without supervisory approval; evaluates and selects solutions from established operating proceduresExplains detailed and/or comprehensive information, typically within own or related teams/departmentProficient in Office Software and basic technical documentation Familiar with SAP ERP software for inventory and procurement tracking (preferred)Experienced with GDP (i.e., accurate recordkeeping)Self-starter, detail oriented, reliable, and effective verbal/written communicatorWorkplace safety trainingAbility to organize work, effective time management and judge priorities with guidanceUnderstanding of procurement and inventory controlParticipate in 5S team, advocating for 5S philosophy with extension of SafetyAble to lift 30 lbs and handle lab equipment safelyEducation and Experience:Higher Secondary Certificate with concentration in engineering and 2+ years’ experience working in a laboratory environment orFoundational degree with concentration in engineering and 0 - 2 years’ experience working in a laboratory environment
