This role involves performing routine and advanced laboratory tests, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, and supporting accurate, timely diagnostic services. The Laboratory Specialist will prepare specimens, follow standardized procedures, document and analyze results, and assist with quality control and calibration checks. Responsibilities also include adhering to safety and infection control guidelines, collaborating with clinical teams, and supporting continuous improvements in laboratory workflows and patient care.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong laboratory equipment handling skills and experience with instrument operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.Candidates should possess core laboratory skills, including specimen collection, preparation, and performing standardized tests in laboratory medicine.Candidates should possess analytical skills to interpret test results, recognize irregularities, and assist in clinical decision-making.Candidates should possess quality control competencies, including adherence to protocols, documentation, and participation in internal and external quality assurance programs.Relevant academic qualification in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field; professional certification or licensure as required by local regulations.Knowledge of laboratory safety standards, infection control practices, and applicable regulatory requirements.Ability to work accurately under time constraints, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and communicate clearly in written and verbal form.Previous experience in a clinical laboratory setting and familiarity with electronic laboratory information systems is beneficial.
