We’re Hiring: Laboratory Supervisors 📍 Medina Plant, Misamis OrientalAxelum Resources Corp. is looking for results-oriented and hands-on Laboratory Supervisors to lead our laboratory operations.We are hiring two (2) Laboratory Supervisors:Micro Laboratory Supervisor Laboratory Supervisor (Physico-Chemical & Microbiology)We are particularly interested in candidates with solid experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, food processing, laboratory operations, quality control, or related industries, with a strong background in laboratory testing, food safety, quality systems, people leadership, and continuous improvement.About the RoleThe Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the assigned laboratory section, ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and timely completion of laboratory testing and analysis. The role ensures compliance with established laboratory procedures, food safety and quality standards, GMP, HACCP, GLP, and applicable regulatory requirements.The position also requires effective supervision and development of laboratory personnel, proper management of laboratory equipment and resources, and close coordination with QA, Production, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to support overall product quality and food safety.What You’ll DoSupervise daily laboratory operations and ensure accurate, reliable, and timely testing and analysisOversee testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, water, environmental samples, and other laboratory specimens as requiredEnsure proper implementation of established laboratory testing methods, procedures, and standard operating proceduresReview and verify laboratory test results, reports, records, and documentationEnsure compliance with GMP, HACCP, food safety, quality systems, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and company standardsMonitor laboratory results and ensure appropriate action on abnormal, out-of-specification, or unusual resultsLead investigations related to laboratory testing issues, discrepancies, and non-conformancesEnsure proper handling, preparation, storage, and disposal of laboratory samples, reagents, media, chemicals, and other materialsMonitor the proper use, calibration, maintenance, and condition of laboratory equipment and instrumentsEnsure the availability and proper management of laboratory supplies and resourcesLead, coach, train, and develop laboratory personnel to maintain technical competency and high performanceEnsure adherence to laboratory safety procedures and established protocolsMaintain accurate laboratory records, reports, logs, and other required documentationCoordinate with QA, Production, Engineering, Warehouse, and other support functions regarding laboratory requirements and quality concernsSupport internal, external, customer, and regulatory audits related to laboratory operationsIdentify and implement opportunities to improve laboratory processes, testing efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround timeDrive continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratoryPerform other laboratory and quality-related responsibilities as assignedWhat We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a related fieldAt least 2–4 years of relevant experience in laboratory operations, preferably in FMCG, food manufacturing, food processing, or related industriesStrong knowledge of laboratory testing, quality control, food safety, GMP, HACCP, and GLPStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilitiesExcellent communication and cross-functional coordination skillsStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracySupervisory or team leadership experience is highly preferredProficiency in MS Office and laboratory documentation/reporting systemsFor Micro Laboratory Supervisor:Strong experience in Microbiological Laboratory Operations and TestingExperience in food microbiology, environmental monitoring, water testing, and/or finished product testing is highly preferredKnowledge of microbiological testing methods, media preparation, laboratory procedures, and microbiological quality standardsFor Laboratory Supervisor (Physico-Chemical & Microbiology):Strong experience in both Physico-Chemical and Microbiological Laboratory Testing and AnalysisExperience in analytical testing of food, beverage, coconut products, or other food manufacturing products is highly preferredKnowledge of physico-chemical analysis, microbiological testing, analytical instruments, and laboratory quality control proceduresAbility to effectively supervise laboratory operations covering both Physico-Chemical and Microbiology.Success in This Role MeansEnsuring accurate, reliable, and timely laboratory resultsMaintaining strong compliance with GMP, HACCP, GLP, food safety, and quality requirementsEnsuring proper laboratory documentation, traceability, and data integrityMinimizing testing errors, delays, and laboratory-related quality risksMaintaining laboratory readiness for internal, external, customer, and regulatory auditsBuilding a technically competent, disciplined, and high-performing laboratory teamStrengthening coordination between Laboratory, QA, Production, Engineering, and other support functionsDriving continuous improvement in laboratory efficiency, accuracy, reliability, and turnaround timeWhy Join Axelum?Be part of a company that values innovation, teamwork, quality, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
