At OIKOS Genomics, we specialize in developing and delivering advanced, customized, and cost-effective genomic solutions tailored to the needs of our global partners.Committed to supporting conservation and applied genomics projects, we provide end-to-end services covering the full workflow—from sample collection and laboratory processing to data analysis and interpretation.Our multidisciplinary approach integrates molecular biology, bioinformatics, and continuous technological innovation, enabling us to deliver high-impact, science-driven solutions across diverse environments.In addition, we actively support the design and execution of conservation genomics research programs, offering a comprehensive suite of services to address complex and evolving project needs.As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our team.Your Main Role Will Be:Carry out assigned laboratory technical and operational tasks in support of daily activities and ongoing projects.Support day-to-day laboratory operations and ensure smooth workflow within the laboratory environment.Assist scientists and laboratory staff in research-related activities and technical procedures as required.Support the maintenance, condition, and functionality of laboratory infrastructure and equipment.Wash, clean, disinfect, and prepare laboratory equipment and materials in accordance with laboratory protocols and biosafety standards.Perform routine maintenance and basic operational checks of laboratory equipment and report any dysfunction or abnormality detected.Maintain laboratory organization, storage areas, and ensure proper handling of laboratory materials and consumables.Participate in inventories, stock monitoring, and laboratory supply management activities.Record and report processed data accurately using company systems, forms, or designated reporting tools.Ensure consistency, traceability, and proper documentation of laboratory records, procedures, and activity-related documents.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Laboratory Sciences, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field.At least 2 years of work experience in a laboratory environmentExperience in molecular biology, biotechnology, genetics, research, academic, diagnostic, environmental, veterinary, genomics, or life sciences laboratory environments will be an advantage.Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures, sample handling, and laboratory best practices.Familiarity with laboratory equipment, instruments, and routine maintenance procedures.Ability to follow SOPs, biosafety protocols, and laboratory safety requirements.Basic understanding of molecular biology or laboratory techniques (DNA/RNA handling, sample preparation, and PCR support) will be an advantage.Basic troubleshooting awareness and ability to report equipment or infrastructure issues.Good organizational skills and attention to detail for laboratory documentation, reporting, and inventory activities.Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
