Reporting to the Laboratory Services Supervisor, you will perform laboratory tests and procedures ordered by our medical staff to support accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients. You will work closely with physicians, staff, patients, and families.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine clinical laboratory tests for the diagnosis and treatment of disease using standard techniques and equipmentPrepare specimens and perform analytical tests using manual and automated equipmentDraw blood and receive or obtain other specimens; identify, label, and store specimens correctlyReceive and review requisitions for routine and special diagnostic tests and proceduresOrganise daily work schedules by request date, test type, sequence, and other factorsMaintain detailed records of tests performed and report results to the appropriate clinical staffComply with laboratory Quality Control and Quality Assurance policies for instrumentation and testingCalibrate, maintain, clean, and sterilise laboratory equipmentReport equipment malfunctions to the supervisor and arrange repairs or serviceFollow strict infection prevention and control principlesRecord daily tests and procedures in the department log and assist with records, statistics, and reportsMonitor supply inventory and requisition supplies and equipment as neededKeep work areas, instruments, and equipment clean according to established proceduresParticipate in the unit's on-call rota for out-of-hours workMaintain accurate, timely, and legible patient recordsParticipate in assigned committees such as Quality Improvement and Infection ControlUphold patient rights and responsibilities and maintain confidentiality at all timesComply with department policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirementsPerform other duties as assigned by the department headQualificationsBachelor's degree in Medical TechnologyBoard certification and a current license to practice in the Kingdom of Saudi ArabiaCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certificateMinimum of 2 years of progressive experience as a medical technologist in a clinical laboratory settingSkillsWorking knowledge of laboratory and hospital computer systemsSound knowledge of laboratory safety and infection prevention and control proceduresManual dexterity and technical ability to complete assigned laboratory tasksStrong attention to detail and compliance with regulatory and safety requirementsExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English and ArabicAbility to build effective working relationships with physicians and colleaguesCommitment to continuous learning and completing annual training requirements
