Apply & track with Apply EdgeWe are seeking an AIP Technician Assistant to provide laboratory support for necropsy and histology studies involving rodent and non-rodent safety studies.The position supports accurate, high-quality pathology work while following study protocols, SOPs, GLP requirements, EHS standards, animal welfare regulations, and departmental procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for a laboratory professional with a foundation in laboratory processes who is interested in developing hands-on experience in necropsy, tissue collection, histology, and pathology operations.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport study setup and preparation for necropsy and histology activities.Assist with laboratory activities for both GLP and non-GLP studies.Train to perform necropsy and histology techniques according to established SOPs and study protocols.Support proper collection, handling, labeling, and submission of specimens.Maintain accurate documentation and chain-of-custody records for specimens and outsourced work.Work closely with Pathologists, Laboratory Managers, Scientists, and Technicians to support study activities.Ensure proper use, cleaning, and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment and work areas.Maintain complete traceability and accurate documentation of work and specimens.Identify, document, and help resolve data or documentation errors.Follow all applicable GLP, laboratory safety, PPE, EHS, and animal welfare requirements.Maintain a high level of accuracy, quality, and efficiency while managing multiple laboratory activities.Preferred Technical ExperienceExperience with one or more of the following is preferred:HistologyNecropsyTissue collectionTissue processingParaffin embeddingMicrotomyHistology slide stainingAnimal science or laboratory researchGLP laboratory environmentsQualificationsMinimum:High School diploma/equivalent with 1–3 years of relevant experience, ORAssociate's degree with 0–2 years of relevant experience.Preferred:Associate's degree with 1–3 years of relevant experience.Experience working in a GLP laboratory.Basic knowledge of histology, pathology, or animal science.Physical RequirementsThe role involves laboratory and ex vivo work and requires the ability to:Wear required PPE.Stand, sit, walk, bend, and perform laboratory procedures.Handle specimens and laboratory materials.Work effectively in a structured laboratory environment.
