Labourer (Packaging Plant)

With its 158-year history in Atlantic Canada, excellent reputation, solid balance sheet, vast land holdings, and a focus on products for the construction industry, the Company is well positioned for continued growth.We are currently looking for a General Labourer in Hardwoodlands, NS.Participating in all aspects of operation of the packaging plant, you will be responsible for:Use automated equipment to package and palletize productMaintain a clean work environmentCarry out facility maintenance requirements as directed from the Site SupervisorQuality control testing on productsCommunicating with incoming and outgoing crews on plant operationReporting to the Site Supervisor on any issues regarding quality, safety, maintenance, and productionMaintaining all levels of communication, such as production, log books, and verbal communicationFill in as Packaging Line Operator when neededSafe and efficient operation of all plant equipmentOther duties, as may be requiredQualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:Commitment to a safe work cultureSelf-motivated, with the ability to work unsupervised and provide leadership when requiredExperience in operating automated manufacturing process equipment considered an assetMechanical aptitude & experienceAbility to work in a team environmentForklift and front end loader experience considered an assetMust be able to lift to or greater than 50 lbs. as requiredWhy work for The Shaw Group?We understand the importance of investing in and developing our people.
