We are seeking a highly skilled and professional Language Interpreter Specialist to join dynamic team in N’Djamena, Chad. As an integral part of our organization, you will facilitate effective communication between parties who speak different language, ensuring accurate and culturally appropriate interpretation in various business settings.

Responsibilities

· Provide high-quality simultaneous and consecutive interpretation services for conferences, meetings, and business negotiations in Chad and surrounding areas.· Accurately convey spoken messages between English and other languages, maintaining the speaker’s tone and intent.· Prepare thoroughly for assessments by researching subject matter, terminology, and cultural nuances specific to the business environment in Chad and central Africa.· Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information encountered during interpretation sessions.· Collaborate with team members and clients to ensure communication flow and customer satisfaction.· Adapt quickly to different accents, dialects and speaking style within the multicultural context.· Stay updated on the events, business practices, and cultural developments relevant to interpretation in Africa.· Manage time efficiently to meet deadlines and handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.· Provide written translations of documents when required, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.Essential Requirements:· Bachelor’s degree in linguistics, translation studies or a related field· Professional certification in interpretation (preferred)· Proven experience as an interpreter in various business settings, particularly in Central Africa regions.· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the second language· Strong listening and comprehension abilities, with a keen eye for detail· Advanced proficiency in both simultaneous and consecutive interpretation techniques· Comprehensive knowledge of specialized terminology in business, legal and technical fields relevant to industries in Africa.· Demonstrate ability to work under pressure, maintain composure in challenging situations and willingness to learn.· Proficiency in computer skills, including word processing, email, and online research tools· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects efficiently· Empathetic communicator with the ability to bridge cultural and linguistic gaps effectively· Familiarity with local dialects and regional variations of languages commonly spoken in Africa· Knowledge of industry-specific terminology relevant to major businesses and sectors in Africa, such as finance, real estate, tourism, and international tradeNB: You may travel from time to time, if the event required your presence.
