balancing customer expectations, operational performance, and cost.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Last-Mile Strategy Manager to develop and execute strategies that improve the efficiency, scalability, reliability, and economics of last-mile delivery operations.The ideal candidate will combine strategic planning, logistics expertise, data analytics, network optimization, and customer-centric thinking to design scalable delivery models, improve service levels, optimize delivery costs, and support business growth.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement last-mile strategies aligned with business growth, customer, and operational objectives.Design short-, medium-, and long-term last-mile operating strategies across markets and service models.Analyze the end-to-end last-mile network and identify opportunities for cost, capacity, speed, and service improvements.Evaluate delivery models including owned fleets, third-party carriers, courier networks, crowdsourced delivery, and hybrid models.Develop market and territory strategies based on customer density, order volumes, geography, delivery windows, and service requirements.Assess opportunities for new delivery services, same-day delivery, scheduled delivery, express delivery, and other differentiated service models.Develop business cases for last-mile network expansion, restructuring, automation, and technology investments.Analyze cost-to-serve by market, customer segment, route, service type, and delivery model.Develop strategies to improve delivery density, route efficiency, vehicle utilization, and driver productivity.Partner with Route Planning and Transportation teams to optimize delivery territories, routes, and operating schedules.Develop capacity strategies for normal operations, peak periods, promotions, seasonal demand, and market launches.Forecast future delivery capacity requirements based on demand, customer growth, and network expansion plans.Evaluate distribution-center, fulfillment-center, micro-fulfillment, hub, and delivery-station requirements.Assess optimal placement and capacity of last-mile facilities.Analyze delivery zones, customer clusters, order density, and geographic coverage.Develop strategies to reduce delivery distances, empty mileage, failed deliveries, and unnecessary reattempts.Evaluate fleet requirements, vehicle types, delivery equipment, and alternative transportation models.Develop strategies for electric vehicles, alternative fuels, bicycles, motorcycles, and other appropriate delivery methods.Establish last-mile service standards, operating principles, and performance targets.Monitor delivery performance and identify strategic gaps affecting customer experience.Analyze delivery failures, delays, capacity constraints, customer complaints, and operational bottlenecks.Develop strategies to improve first-attempt delivery success and delivery-window compliance.Partner with Customer Experience teams to improve delivery visibility, communication, and service recovery.Evaluate pricing, delivery fees, minimum-order thresholds, and service-level trade-offs from a customer and commercial perspective.Develop last-mile network scenarios using demand forecasts, geographic data, and operational constraints.Conduct sensitivity analysis for changes in demand, fuel costs, labor costs, vehicle availability, service levels, and carrier rates.Support market-entry and geographic-expansion strategies from a last-mile perspective.Evaluate third-party logistics and carrier strategies, including sourcing, capacity, performance, and geographic coverage.Collaborate with Procurement on carrier strategy, tenders, commercial models, and supplier selection.Develop carrier performance requirements and governance frameworks.Monitor logistics technology developments and identify opportunities for automation and digital optimization.Partner with Technology teams on TMS, routing, dispatch, tracking, telematics, proof-of-delivery, and customer-notification solutions.Evaluate emerging technologies such as AI-based route optimization, predictive ETAs, autonomous delivery, robotics, and intelligent dispatching.Develop dashboards and analytical models to monitor last-mile performance and strategic objectives.Establish governance routines for reviewing last-mile strategy, operational performance, and improvement initiatives.Lead cross-functional strategic projects involving Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Technology, Commercial, and Customer Experience.Present strategic recommendations, investment cases, network scenarios, and performance insights to senior leadership.Identify risks to last-mile resilience and develop mitigation and contingency strategies.Ensure last-mile strategies support applicable safety, regulatory, environmental, and customer requirements.Lead continuous-improvement programs that strengthen last-mile scalability, successful candidate should have strong experience in last-mile strategy, logistics strategy, transportation, supply chain, e-commerce, distribution, or network optimization, preferably within a complex and geographically distributed operation.The candidate should demonstrate:Strong understanding of last-mile logistics and delivery operating models.Experience developing transportation or logistics strategies at regional or national scale.Strong knowledge of route optimization, delivery economics, fleet capacity, and network design.Experience analyzing cost-to-serve and developing logistics business cases.Strong financial and commercial understanding of transportation operations.Experience evaluating owned-fleet, third-party, and hybrid delivery models.Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities.Experience working with large operational datasets and geographic information.Familiarity with TMS, route-optimization platforms, telematics, GPS, ERP, or logistics analytics systems.Strong understanding of customer delivery expectations and service-level trade-offs.Experience with capacity planning, demand forecasting, and peak-period strategy.Strong project-management and strategic-planning skills.Excellent stakeholder-management and communication capabilities.Ability to translate complex operational data into clear strategic recommendations.Strong problem-solving and scenario-analysis capabilities.Commercially minded approach to balancing service quality, growth, and cost.Knowledge of emerging logistics technologies and sustainable delivery solutions.Ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives across markets and functions.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Experience working with international and distributed teams is highly desirable.
