Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob OverviewWe are looking for an experienced litigation lawyer to manage and represent the company in labor disputes and cheque dishonour (cheque bounce) cases and any small to medium claims assigned from time to time. The role covers the full litigation lifecycle, from pre-litigation notices and filings to court appearances, settlement negotiations, and execution of judgments.Key AccountabilitiesLabor Law LitigationRepresent the organization before labor courts, tribunals, and relevant authorities in employment disputesHandle cases involving wrongful termination, unpaid wages and end-of-service benefits, contract disputes, employee misconduct, and complaints filed by employeesDraft and review show-cause notices, termination letters, settlement agreements, and employment-related correspondenceCheque Bounce LitigationManage the end-to-end process for dishonored cheque cases, including legal notices, criminal and civil complaints, and recovery proceedingsPrepare and file complaints, petitions, and supporting documentation within statutory timelinesTrack case progress, hearing dates, and deadlines, and ensure timely compliancePursue recovery through negotiation, settlement, and enforcement of judgmentsGeneral Litigation DutiesDraft pleadings, written statements, affidavits, applications, and appealsAppear before courts and tribunals and present arguments effectivelyMaintain accurate case files, records, and regular status reports for managementConduct legal research and keep up to date with relevant legislation and case law.Qualifications/RequirementsBachelor’s degree in law (LL.B. or equivalent) is a MUST. Master’s degree in law is an advantageValid license to practice before the relevant courts in the UAE is a MUST[3-5] years of litigation experience, with demonstrable work in labor law and cheque bounce mattersExperience handling a high volume of cases and managing multiple deadlinesPreferredExperience representing corporate clients or working in an in-house legal teamFamiliarity with debt recovery and enforcement proceduresExperience in mediation or conciliation proceedings
