Laytime Specialist | Dubai

Job DescriptionWe are looking for a qualified and detail-oriented Laytime Specialist to join our team in Dubai. The ideal candidate should have experience in laytime calculations, demurrage and dispatch claims, charter party agreements, and shipping documentation. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing shipping documents, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring accurate settlement of claims while maintaining cost control.Key ResponsibilitiesHandle laytime calculations and manage demurrage and dispatch claims.Review charter party agreements and shipping documents, including NOR (Notice of Readiness) and SOF (Statement of Facts).Verify shipping documentation and ensure accuracy in laytime calculations.Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve claims and discrepancies.Analyze demurrage and dispatch claims to ensure accurate and timely settlement.Monitor laytime-related costs and support effective cost control.Communicate with chartering teams, shipowners, operators, and other relevant stakeholders regarding claims and documentation.Ensure compliance with charter party terms and applicable shipping procedures.Maintain accurate records of laytime calculations, claims, and supporting documents.Identify discrepancies in shipping documentation and work towards timely resolution.Support the shipping operations team in managing claim-related activities efficiently.Key RequirementsPrior experience in laytime calculations, demurrage, and dispatch claims.Good understanding of charter party agreements, NOR, and SOF.Knowledge of shipping documentation and marine or logistics operations.Strong analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail.Ability to review and interpret charter party terms and shipping documents accurately.Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.Ability to manage multiple claims and deadlines efficiently.Proficiency in relevant shipping documentation and laytime calculation tools will be an added advantage.
